Summary

The aim of this project was to analyse the economic and societal costs and benefits of marine aggregate extraction with particular emphasis on the impacts on ecosystem goods and services. Through naturally occurring processes and functions, ecosystems (both marine and terrestrial) provide a number of direct and indirect benefits to human societies. These benefits are collectively known as ecosystem goods and services.
