Summary

Occupancy is sometimes restricted by means of a planning condition or by a legal agreement. This is an established and valuable mechanism for securing planning matters arising from a development proposal. Occupancy restrictions via condition or legal agreements are commonly used to bring development in line with the objectives of sustainable development as articulated through the relevant local, regional and national planning policies. The reference against each polygon is the planning application number – details of which can be viewed at http://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/planning/planningapplications/planning-applications The extent of areas covered by Occupancy restrictions or legal agreements in the YDNPA are recorded as polygons.
