NHS County Durham (PCT)

NHS County Durham was a primary care trust, and - in partnership with NHS Darlington - was responsible for improving the health and wellbeing of the 600,000 people it served across County Durham and Darlington.

Primary Care Trusts ceased to exist in April 2013, following the Health and Social Care Act 2012. The 152 PCTs' responsibilities for were transferred to 211 new "clinical commissioning groups".
