The exposed faces were smoother, with many shallow and a few deep, pools. The exposed areas were dominated by Semibalanus balanoides and Chthamalus stellatus, with many Actina equina in sheltered crannies. Himanthalia elongata and Lithophyllum sp. were common near low water on the exposed faces. The sheltered fissures and overhangs were dominated by Plumaria elegans, with Grantia compressa, Caliostoma zizyphinum, Ocenebra, Lomentaria and a variety of other sponges.

Lichen flora diverse, with Ramalina sp, and indet grey lichens dominant. Deeper shaded gullies held patchy Verrucaria maura and Littorina neritoides which increased towards the littoral fringe.
