Hydroids, particularly Nemertesia ramosa, Schizotricha and Thecocarpus frequent. Ophiothrix in dense patches on more `current exposed' hummocks. Metridium in a few places and one patch of dense large Sagartia elegans. Small vertical faces with dense Ciona and a few Protanthea. Very large Luidia present. |

Muddy shell gravel with whole and broken shells, a few pebbles and scattered boulders. The occasional very large boulder - one covered with large Metridium. A varied fauna on the sediment, including Pecten, Opiocomina nigra, Virgularia mirabilis, Cerianthus lloydri, Nemertesia ramsoa, Pagurus prideaux. Flora also varied, including species typical of current-swept habitats (Scinaia sp., Cutleria multifida, Sporochnus pedunculatus and Arthrocladia villosa). On boulders, Antedon petasus and Echinus were occasional with rock surfaces covered with encrusting coralline and brown algae, Pomatoceros and Parasmittina, possibly an underwater spring. Dredge tracks seen at 18m bcd. Weird freshwater shimmers at bottom. |

Foliose red algae has been given a nominal abundance value of Present for this record as in Arev it had no abundance value. Small cobbles and pebbles on sand and shell with mud from 11m to 18m bcd. Turf of foliose red algae on stones with fucoids (including Demarestia dresnayi). Hermit crabs - mostly Pagurus prideaux, - abundant. Pecten (juveniles and adults) frequent, hydroids and bryozoans also frequent. Sediment with Myxicola infundibulum and tubes of unidentified worms and terebellids. |

Surprisingly few hydroids - area had possibly been dredged for scallops. Few large scallops present but several small ones. Notable were carpets - literally thousands - of Onchidoris bilamellata, which were leaving mucous networks over many square metres of sediment surface. |
