Alaria thriving at around 30m and with lower limit around 33m. Rock surfaces dominated by encrusting Corynactis, with some encrusting dark red algae and frequwnt foliose red algae, mainly Cryptopleura, and frequent Alaria sporelings. Tubularia becoming frequent aboove 22m. |

Rock particularly above 20m, not as well colonised as in deeper water, with patches of coralline ccrust present and a much higher population of hydroids. At shallow part of station, large amounts of Endendium with a white hydroid and scattered Corynactis over rock dominated by encrusting Corallincea |

Open forest of Alaria to forest at 25m on near vertical slope of bedrock. Rock face with frequent pits up to 30-40cm wide and as deep providing shelter for cover. Rock face very visibly colonised by anenomes, encrusting sponges and cryptopleurum. Vassa falcuta collected in this zone but no Parajassa. |

Very steep slope of bedrock below the Alaria zone levelling off at 43-45m and dominated by Corynactis, encrusting sponges and frequent Cryptopleurum in upper part of this zone. Large Polymastium boletisane present at 45m, and Cathrina frequent amoungst the Corynactis on the more vertical scale. |
