This series is an amalgamation of all the data sets relating to the Bathing Water quality. This includes the survey 2011 previously held on Data.Gov.UK (DGUK), thus consolidating all information in one location on DGUK. Data source is the Environment Agency (EA). The microbiological quality of bathing waters can be affected by pollution from agricultural and urban sources, discharges of sewage effluent, storm water overflows and river borne pathogens, all of which could have a significant impact on human health. The EC Bathing Water Directive sets mandatory and more stringent guideline standards with tighter limit values.
