Social impact bonds (SIBs) are a new tool that can enable organisations to deliver outcomes contracts and make funding for services conditional on achieving results. Social Investors pay for the project at the start, and then receive payments based on the results achieved by the project.
There are now more than 30 Social Impact Bonds across the UK, supporting tens of thousands of beneficiaries in areas like youth unemployment, mental health and homelessness. There are many resources on this website and beyond that can help you develop a SIB:
- Get advice: The Government Outcomes Lab assists public sector organisations in assessing the viability of SIBs.
- Access Social Investment: Good Finance helps charities and social enterprises navigate the world of Social Investment.
- Apply for funding: The Life Chances Fund provides top-up funding for locally developed SIBs. For more information contact the Big Lottery Fund.
