The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) publishes details of senior officials’ business expenses and hospitality and the permanent secretary’s meetings on a quarterly basis. The data includes permanent secretary's meetings with external organisations. The external meetings data also covers the Government Chief Scientific Adviser as this post is graded at permanent secretary level. Prior to the establishment of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Department in July 2016, policy activities were delivered by Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
