The dataset boundary allowed targeting of English Woodland Grant Scheme (EWGS) Woodland Improvement Grant (WIG) within the scheme area in the West Midlands Region as part of the 2008 - 2011 EWGS prospectus.

The Grow with the Wyre was a Landscape Partnership Scheme involving a range of events, activities and work programmes to restore the landscape and celebrate its rich working history. The partnership brought together the Forestry Commission, Natural England, the local councils and wildlife and community representatives.
