The majority of these animals were killed by a licensed slaughterman on-farm. The animal was stunned with a captive bolt pistol, followed by pithing. Some will also also have been killed using a free bullet. A small number will have been killed by lethal injection and pre-medication with a suitable sedative where required, administered by a veterinary surgeon. |
