The National Flood Hazard Maps 2019 have been created in order for NRW to comply with the Flood Risk Regulations (2009) requirements. The maps show Flood Depth, Velocities (speed and direction), Hazard and Extent on a 2m grid, for River, Sea and Surface Water and Small Watercourses flood sources. The data is broken up into three risk bands, High, Medium and Low. For Rivers and Surface Water and Small Watercourses, High is up to 1 in 30 year, Medium 1 in 30 to 1 in 100 year, and Low 1 in 100 year to 1 in 1000 year. For the Sea, High is up to 1 in 30 year, Medium 1 in 30 to 1 in 200 year and Low 1 in 200 year to 1 in 1000 year. Currently, the data is presented to NRW via WMS and WMTS feeds from JBA Consulting.
