Description of the contract

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) is the Lead Government Department for energy supply emergencies. This covers major supply disruptions to electricity, gas and petroleum products. DECC has well established emergency response arrangements in place which are routinely tested. As part of this testing and validation regime DECC are tendering for consultants to design, deliver and facilitate two Command-Post Exercises (CPXs): A major ‘Tier 1’ exercise to be held in April 2014 that simulates a major disruption to the electricity supply. An internal DECC “Tier 2” exercise to be held in Autumn 2013 as a training exercise for DECC staff involved in emergency response
