Government Digital Service (GDS/the Authority) is leading on a project to investigate a new model for online authentication, which is intended to improve the overall user experience.
In order to meet the objectives of this project, the Authority would like to appoint a suitable supplier to carry out two phases of research that will help to understand the current landscape such as how people authenticate themselves online, how the new model might work in the future, how well the concept is received by citizens and in particular to investigate how the customer experience can be optimised.
To participate in this procurement, Potential Providers must first be registered on the Government Procurement Service e-Sourcing Suite.
If you have not yet registered on the eSourcing Suite, this can be done online at https://gpsesourcing.cabinetoffice.gov.uk by following the link ‘Register for GPS eSourcing’.
Please note that, to register, you must have a valid DUNS number (as provided by Dun and Bradstreet) for the organisation which you are registering, who will be entering into a contract if invited to do so at the Invitation to Tender stage.
Full instructions for registration and use of the system can be found at
Once you have registered on the eSourcing Suite, you will need to express and interest for the Identity Assurance Research Contract .This is done by emailing ExpressionOfInterest@gps.gsi.gov.uk.

• the name of this procurement (Identity Assurance Research Contract) and the RM reference number (RM1142-SB);
