Description of the contract

DFID is seeking a service provider to act as Fund Manager to design the implementation of the Girls Education Challenge (GEC) over the next four years and provide associated administrative services. DFID is committed to ensuring that every girl and every boy has access to a good quality education but there is a specific need for an additional focus on girls. DFID will invest up to £355 million over four years, with the potential to extend for a further four years, to ensure that girls overcome the unique gender specific obstacles they face to enrolling, remaining in school and learning. Through this fund DFID will finance projects that find new and effective ways to educate up to 1 million of the world’s poorest girls by 2015.
