Wolverhampton City Council is seeking to purchase a range of specific services to give adult informal / family carers a voice and to support them in their caring role. This service will compliment and operate in partnership with support delivered by the City Council’s Carer Support Team and other organisations delivering support to Carers on the City Council’s behalf, so that together we form a united Carer Support Service across the city. This contract will require support to be provided in two distinct areas: 1. Carer Forums – support the current Disability Carer Forum and to establish and support a new Mental Health Carer Forum. • Engaging with carers • Advertising / promoting the Forums • Supporting / developing separate Management Committees to lead each Forum • Providing training to the Management Committees • Organising and delivering with them each year over the period of the contract: o 4 Forums for each service area o Management Committee meetings every 6 weeks for each service area o 6 open carer surgeries/information sharing events covering all carer groups 2. Carer Meeting Points (Support Groups) - support the current 8 Carer Groups that operate across the city increasing to 12 over the life of the contract. The contract will be for 3 years, commencing on 01 August 2012, with an option to extend for a further one year.
