Why are the screenshots of the apps so stretched? They look horrible. I could take a better screenshot from my iPhone.

Does what it says on the tin

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from an iPhone app of this type, but it found me the nearest pharmacy to my temporary office instantly. I like the fact that it does one job well, rather than cramming everything under the sun in. For the price of a pack of mints, what more could you ask for?

Pharmacies

What would be tremendously useful would be to know the nearest pharmacy that is open on a Sunday.
Local papers sometimes carry this information.
And an areas' Chemists often operate Sunday opening on a rota.
But it can be very difficult to find this information on a Sunday itself.

Is not about  time to get these "apps" on Android..

There  are more android users than iPhone..

is it that our government now supports Apple and proprietary software system?

  I feel cheated!

It is on Android!

Seems the description above is out of date. If you follow the link to the developers web site they have a free version available for Android.

Apps created by developers, not government

Sorry that you feel cheated. However, this app (and almost all of the ones featured on data.gov.uk) are created by developers, not the government. Though we would encourage people to build apps for any and all people they think would like them, ultimately that's a business decision for the app creators and government should not interfere. If you think that there aren't enough Android (or Blackberry/Windows Phone/MeeGo/...) mobile apps using UK public data, we encourage you to consider making one.

Nice but...

Very nice app.

Pity the data is a list of pharmacies as of 2006.   How many have closed or opened since then?  So much better if governement would publish the up to date list.
