Kanna Explore is an app that has 28,641 public play areas, parks, swimming pools, museums and libraries in the UK.

The concept was initiated when the co-founders, Johnny and Bob, stumbled across a hidden gem of a play park in Lyndhurst, New Forest. The play park was not listed on Google or Apple maps, a more detailed search showed that there was no local, regional or national website for public play parks. Bob and Johnny thought, ‘there must be an app for this’, there wasn’t.

From a simple question. "Why can't we find all public parks in one map?, 'cause, you know... we've never been here and the kids need to go out and PLAY!!". From that very simple notion, more questions grew - what if we did something that brings our friends together? What's around the corner? Where can I go within 10 minutes of walking, cycling or driving? What if you could give other people tips about places...So we did something about it. We then included all the swimming pools, libraries and green spaces and more. That's when it started coming together...
