Air Quality Management Area
The area outlined and hatched in red is to be designated as an air quality management area. The designated area incorporates parts of St.Dunstan’s Street, London Road, Whitstable Road, Station Road West, North Lane, St.Peter’s Place, Rheims Way, Wincheap, Pin Hill, Upper Bridge Street, Lower Bridge Street, St.George’s Place, Old Dover Road, Broad Street, Military Road, Tourtel Road and Sturry Road. This area is designated in relation to a likely breach of the nitrogen dioxide (annual mean) objective as specified in the Air Quality Regulations (England) (Wales) 2000. In addition, parts of Broad Street and Wincheap, outlined and hatched in blue are further designated in relation to a likely breach of the nitrogen dioxide (hourly mean) objective as specified in the Air Quality Regulations (England) (Wales) 2000. These areas may be referred to as the Canterbury City Council Air Quality Management Area No 2 and shall come into effect on 25 November 2011.
