Ecosim outputs from Mediterranean model - used to look at potential impact of non-native species - Fizzyfish work package 2
Fizzyfish
Outputs from Bay of Calvi Ecosim model- used to look at potential impact of non-native species. Biomasses of organisms at the start of simulations and those after 100 years, assuming different population growth trajectories for the alien fish species Fisurella.

The Bay of Calvi model is composed of 27 compartments, including seabirds, 11 groups of fish, 12 groups of invertebrates, 2 primary producers, bacteria and detritus, as well as a single commercial fishing fleet. A new functional group has been added to the EwE model to represent **F. commersonii**. This was assigned avery low biomass (0.005 t/km) in the first instance. The new Ecopath food-web was used to conduct dynamic simulations in Ecosim whereby the biomass of **F. commersonii **was steadily ‟forced‟ upward over time(using the in-built ‟fitting‟ routine) to investigate the indirect consequences for the wider food-web, but also the impact on commercial fisheries in the Bay of Calvi. A number of different ‟forcing‟ scenarios were tested, firstly a 4% year-on-year increase in F. commersonii was tested but also a 6% and 8% increase for the full 100 years.
