Abstract

This layer shows the external legal boundaries of land within Natural Resources Wales (NRW) Forestry ownership. It does not show the internal deed boundaries. It has been designed to: - enable the mapping and Geographic Information Units to interrogate and maintain NRW land holdings records, - provide land ownership data to staff with GIS, - produce updated polygons to maintain legal boundary information in the 'Forester' GIS system.

This dataset is a product of the Deeds Management System. Spatial information (polygons covering acquisitions and disposals of land areas, NRW accesses, NRW servitudes, legal boundaries) and deeds database information (attributes) are all managed within ARCGIS 10.2. This file does not have the internal deed boundaries shown and does not have deed attributes attached. This file will be used widely throughout NRW, in various GIS projects where a picture of our land holdings is required. The Deed Management System application is packaged as an ArcView 8 extension. It links ArcView 8 GIS and ORACLE (a relational database management system, or RDMS).
