Risk of Flooding from Surface Water - Key Summary Information
These documents provide analysis of the numbers of people and property within areas at risk of flooding from surface water. There are 3 spreadsheets available which provide the following summary information: • Number of properties in areas at risk from flooding from surface water • Number of people in areas at risk from flooding from surface water • Number of ground floor properties in areas at risk from flooding from surface water They include a breakdown of numbers and areas of land at risk of flooding from surface water within England, and the corresponding ONS Regions, River Basin Districts, Regional Flood and Coastal Committees, Environment Agency Areas, Lead Local Flood Authorities, Local Authorities and MP Constituencies. The raw values are presented and should be rounded to an appropriate level of precision for the geographical area you choose to use the data for. The latest versions of the Risk of Flooding from Surface Water (RoFSW) products and the National Receptors Dataset (NRD)* are used to create this set of summary information. Further explanations about the information presented in the spreadsheets such as flood likelihood categories, property types and how numbers are calculated are presented in the first tab of each spreadsheet. *The NRD is developed by the Environment Agency, however it is based on Ordnance Survey data (AddressBase Premium and MasterMap Topography Layer) and we do not have permission to release this as Open Data.
