Otolith data exists as individual fish age, sex, maturity as well as method, location and date of capture on both the Cefas Biological Sampling System (BSS) and Fishing Survey System (FSS) databases. Additionally, training and quality control data are kept on shared drives. Data from otolith exchanges and workshops are kept on local hard drives. Ad hoc data for aged fish samples from non-standard contracts for other sections or external bodies (e.g. Peltic pelagic work, fish disease work for Cefas Weymouth) are kept on local hard drives. Data associated with otolith processing and storage of otoliths subsequent to reading is stored on a shared drive.
