Cheshire Historic Environment Record: Listed Buildings Polygon
Historic England Listed Buildings
List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest
Historic or architecturally significant buildings of national importance are designated as Listed Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990. They are recorded in a list maintained by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, advised by Historic England. Notifications of new and amended listings are issued by Historic England as and when a building is added to the list. This dataset is updated by the Cheshire Historic Environment Record as soon as possible after the notification is received. Listed Buildings have been derived from digital datasets supplied by English Heritage and the former Cheshire authorities and have amended as required. The quality/validity of the polygon data is, as yet, unknown. The depiction of a listed building should be regarded as indicative only and should not be regarded as constituting any legal definition. THESE POLYGONS DO NOT DEPICT CURTILLAGE. Each feature contains within its entry in the attribute table hyperlinks for use with ArcGIS and WebGIS to the designation record of that asset published on Revealing Cheshire's Past, an online version of the HER database which makes a subset of the HER data available online. The data has the following attribute data: Attribute - Description DesigUID - CHER Unique Identifier Name - Legal Name PrefRef - National Heritage List for England reference Nationalref - PrefRef - National Heritage List for England reference OtherRef - Old Volume/Map/Item reference Grade - Listing Grade Assigned - Date of designation Amended - Last ammendment to the designation CaptureScale - Scale of mapping the polygon was digitised against RCP_ArcGIS - A hyperlink to a copy of the designation record on Revealing Cheshire's Past for ArcGIS users RCP_WebGIS - A hyperlink to a copy of the designation record on Revealing Cheshire's Past for WebGIS users xgEdited - Date/Editor of Last CHER Edit xgLockedBy - Not Used SHAPE_Length - Perimeter of Listed Building in Meters SHAPE_Area - Area of Listed Building in Square Meters
