Scottish Local Authorities are the regulators for the Scottish Legislation pertaining to Private Water Supplies for human consumption. Further information can be found online at DWQR -The Drinking Water Quality Regulator for Scotland website. The main objective of the Scottish Private Water Regulations is to ensure the quality and quantity through clean, safe drinking water used by those using private water supplies which is not provided by Scottish Water. This dataset is the location of abstraction points for Private Water Supplies. There are likely to be abstraction points for private water supplies that the council has not been notified of and so are not yet recorded in this dataset but they will be added when the council is made aware of them.
