Abstract

This survey was undertaken by Cefas as part of the Data Collection Regulation Survey, Qtr 1 (FSS: DCRDC); Six surveys of a series to collect biological data on fish stocks in support of the EU Data Collection Regulation (DCR). Fishing was undertaken using a Portuguese High Headline Trawl (PHHT) and 4m Beam Trawl, using a subset of the station grid previously fished on Cefas Celtic Sea Groundfish Surveys. The station grid was not a fixed target and was deviated from as dictated by weather, catch rates and/or sampling needs. Survey took place between 01/02/2010 and 15/02/2010 on CEFAS Endeavour Equipment used during this survey : - Beam Trawl 4m steel commercial 3/5 link mat flip up 75mm CE 40mm liner AFT - Otter Trawl PHHT Poly doors, Rubber bobbins, Liner - Otter Trawl PHHT Poly doors, Rubber bobbins, Liner, Bunt Tickler Survey operations were undertaken on 87 stations 103 different species were caught on this survey

Lineage

DCR Data collection surveys from 2005 - 2010 in the North East Atlantic, Celtic Sea area. The Cefas electronic data capture system was used to collect station details, catch, length (all species) and biological data (selected species), and these data were uploaded to the Cefas Fishing Survey System (FSS) database. Biological samples were returned to the laboratory for processing and age determination. Species and Gear codelists are available via the additional information source field.
