Whole rock data for samples from Mt. St. Helens
Whole rock analyses (presented in parts per million, ppm) of volcanic samples from Mt. St Helens, Washington, USA. Detailed sample descriptions and given in Blundy et al. (2008) and references therein. All samples were analysed using solution ICP-MS at the Open University. Blundy, J., Cashman, K.V. and Berlo, K. Acid digestion of sample powders was undertaken at The Open University (see Cox et al. 2019) for detailed descriptions). In summary, 100 mg of sample powder was digested in a multi-stage HF-HNO 3 digestion process, with dry down temperatures set at 65?C. Solutions were made up to 1000-fold dilutions of the original powder weight in a 2% HNO 3 solution, prior to analysis. Analyses were undertaken using the Agilent 8800 Triple Quadrupole.
