WFD (Water Framework Directive) Cycle 2 River outfalls to transitional and coastal waters
This spreadsheet contains the location of the outfall points where Cycle 2 river lines (England only) meet the coast. These outfall points were initially created in an ESRI ArcGIS shapefile and used in the production of the Surface Water Body Centrelines river network to be uploaded to WISE (Water Information System for Europe) for European-wide environmental reporting. Please note that the Environment Agency no longer provide data for water bodies in Wales - this should now available from Natural Resources Wales. The dataset was created in ArcGIS by intersecting the DRN (Detailed River Network) line segment of the WFD (Water Framework Directive) Cycle 2 river line water body with the transitional or coastal water bodies. The midpoint of the intersecting line segment was derived using ETGeowizards. This midpoint is the river outfall. The co-ordinates of the river outfall point were derived using ArcToolbox. The dataset was then exported from ArcGIS to Excel.
