Dietary metabarcoding reads from stomachs of fish found in the Irish Sea, Celtic Sea, English Channel, and North Sea from 2015 to 2016
Raw sequences produced in 2018 from the stomach samples of lemon sole (n=16), herring (n=36), whiting (n=27), plaice (n=24), haddock (n=15), saithe (n=20), horse mackerel (n=15), grey gurnard(n=15), and mackerel (n=38). Samples were obtained from the North Sea, Eastern channel, and Irish and Celtic Seas. The sequences were analysed using a MiSeq benchtop sequencer.

Full details are available in 5.3 of `*Resolving the role of jellyfish in marine food webs*`_. In brief: fish stomach samples were obtained from North Sea International Beam Trawl Survey (IBTS) (8 August β 6th September 2016), Eastern channel beam trawl (17thβ 30th July 2016), and the Poseidon (3rd -21stOctober 2015) research cruises were collected aboard the RV Cefas Endeavour. Samples from the Celtic sea herring acoustic survey (CSHAS) (7th-27th October 2016) were collected aboard the RV Celtic explorer. Stomachs were removed and the contents DNA was extracted by salt for Poseidon samples, and CTAB DNA extraction for all other samples. 1st round PCRS were conducted using two sets of primers: ILF_ProSSU3 (18s) and Uni-Minibar (COI). Second round PCR attached unique nucleotide indexes. Samples were sequenced on MiSeq and demultiplexed at Sheffield diagnostic genetics services. .. _`*resolving the role of jellyfish in marine food webs*`: https://ueaeprints.uea.ac.uk/id/eprint/69971/1/2019LambPPhD.pdf
