National Coastal Erosion Risk Mapping (NCERM) - SMP22 - Welsh Border to Scotland and Great Ormes to English-Welsh Border
The National Coastal Erosion Risk Map shows the coastal baseline position. This baseline is split to „frontages‟ - this dataset covers the frontage from Welsh Border to Scotland and Great Ormes to English-Welsh Border. These are defined as lengths of coast with consistent characteristics based on the cliff behaviour characteristics and the defence characteristics. For erodable frontages, information is provided about erosion projections aligned with each Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) management policy, under two scenarios: scenario 1 is that SMP management policies are implemented as they currently stand. Scenario 2 is a hypothetical scenario of no active intervention along the entire coast. Attribution statement: © Environment Agency copyright and/or database right 2016. All rights reserved.
