Fishing - Active Salmon Coastal Net Fisheries 2011-2016 (time series)

Abstract

Fisheries which returned coastal fixed engine or net and coble catches of salmon or sea trout to Marine Scotland Science from 2011 onwards. Fishery locations are repeated for each year that the fishery was active, i.e. reported catch data. More information on the Scottish Government salmon and sea trout fishery statistics is provided at http://www.gov.scot/Topics/marine/Publications/stats/SalmonSeaTroutCatches

Created from locations associated with Marine Scotland’s National Catch database records, and information supplied by fishery owners on Catch Return forms. The dataset was created to be publicly available on Marine Scotland Maps. FORM_NUM contains the Form number from Marine Scotland's National Catch database. YEAR contains the year when the fishery was active. REGION contains the Statistical Region with which the fishery is associated. SMR contains the Scottish Marine Region with which the fishery is associated.
