Geophysical equipment types used included: Airgun/Sleeve Gun, Deep Tow Boomer, Echo Sounder, Gravimeter, Magnetometer, Pinger, Sidescan Sonar and Sparker. The survey was undertaken by British Geological Survey. Positioning systems: Magnavox satellite navigation system integrated with MX610 dopplar sonar and Arma Brown Mk1 Mod 5 or Mk1C gyro compass. Also Decca main Chain receiver with optional integration with the above. Data logged to a Camac data logger or Monitor Labs 9400 data logger Echo sounder system: Atlas Deso 10 wit hull mounted transducers and Edig 10 digitiser unit Side scan sonar systems: UDI AS350 dual channel sidescan with catamaran tow fish. Display was on an EPC 3200 graphic recorder. Also a Kelvin Hughes Ms47 transit sonar, hull mounted. Airgun system: Bolt 600B, 2 guns with standar (1-40 cubic inch) range of chamber sizes, Kemi bandpass filter, TSS Model 307 TVG amplifier and display on a EPC 4600 or EPC 3200 graphic recorder. The hydrophone was a Geomecanique 2 channel, 30m, or 50m. Watergun system: Soder Mica-T 80 cubic inch syste, with recording as for the airgun Sparker system: EG&G sparker with up to 5kJ. One 3-element and 1 9-element spark array, Kemo bandpass filter, TSS Model 307 TVG amplifier, TSS Model 302 swell filter and display on a EPC 4600 or EPC 3200 graphic recorder. The hydrophone was a Teledyne 7 channel 10m system. Pinger system: Edo Western 248 pinger, 3.5kHz, 10kW hull mounted transducer. Used with TSS Model 302 swell filter and displayed on a EPC 3200 graphic recorder. Huntec deep-tow boomer: system fitted with adaptive processing unit, Krohn-hite filter and display on a EPC 3200 graphic recorder. Gravity meter: LaCoste and Romberg S75 air-sea system. Worden land gravity meter used for land ties. Magnetometer: Barringer proton magnetometer. For more detailed information see the Cruise Report.
