Abstract

Strategic Flood Risk Assessment - Flood Zones Redbridge Council has completed a Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA). The purpose of an SFRA is to assess and map all forms of flood risk from groundwater, surface water, impounded water bodies, sewer, river and tidal sources, taking into account future climate change. The data from the SFRA is now used to assist planning decisions to ensure future developments in the borough are appropriately located, minimising damage to property and people.
