Abstract

English Heritage maintains a Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest. This is not a statutory list, but any sites on it are a material consideration in the planning process. The Register is periodically reviewed by English Heritage and additions made. This dataset is updated by the Cheshire Historic Environment Record as soon as possible after the notification of a new site is received. These sites have been digitally mapped by the Cheshire Historic Environment Record from the notification maps (usually 1:10,000) supplied by English Heritage. The digitised boundaries are the County Historic Environment Record's interpretation of the data and should, therefore, be used with great care. The depiction of a boundary should be regarded as indicative only and does not constitute any legal definition. Each feature contains within its entry in the attribute table hyperlinks for use with ArcGIS and WebGIS to the designation record of that asset published on Revealing Cheshire's Past, an online version of the HER database which makes a subset of the HER data available online.
