Collaborative Deer Management Priority Areas
The Forestry Commission and Natural England are working with the Deer Initiative Ltd to improve the collaborative management of deer in priority areas. These areas are focused on concentrations of woodland SSSIs and priority woodland habitat where the negative impacts of deer are particularly problematic. Over a four year period, collaborative action to manage deer will be coordinated and evidence collected to show both changes to deer populations and their impact in woodlands within the priority areas. Priority areas are 400-600 sq km to derive landscape scale impacts and effective concentration of resources. Attribution statement: Contains OS data © Crown copyright [and database right] [year].
