Protected Zone Plots For Bark Beetle Species GB 10K Grid
Survey sites used to confirm the absence/presence of bark beetle species to support GB protected Zone status. Survey undertaken includes visual inspection and destructive sampling and included baited (pheromone lure) log traps. Plots are located on a 15km grid, in spruce or pine forest locations throughout Great Britain. Plots set up in early summer visual surveys and sample collection repeated at 8 week intervals.
