Abstract

Annual research vessel surveys in the Western English Channel using 4m beam trawls in support of EU data regulations and as part of an ICES funded research program. Randomly selected survey position design. In 2012 the survey coverage was extended to cover the Celtic Sea using both the 4m beam trawl and the GOV trawl. Surveys began in 2006. Data collected using the Cefas electronic data capture system (EDC), and uploaded to the Cefas Fishing Survey System (FSS) database. Biological samples are returned to the laboratory for processing and age determination. Species and gear code lists are available via the additional information source field.
