INSPIRE (Amendment) Regulations 2012

Parliament recently passed a Statutory Instrument, The INSPIRE (Amendment) Regulations 2012, to  continue the transposition into UK law of the EC INSPIRE Directive.  The Amendment Regulations come into effect on 1 August 2012 and can be viewed here, along with an Explanatory Memorandum.

The INSPIRE (Amendment) Regulations 2012 update the INSPIRE Regulations 2009 to take account of technical Implementing Rules made by the European Commission since the INSPIRE Directive was made. Some further administrative updating is also made.  The Explanatory Memorandum gives an overview of the changes.

An informal consolidated text of the INSPIRE Regulations can be read here

Scotland will introduce its own amending instrument shortly, to bring the 2009 Scottish Regulations up to date.
