Soon the government will be looking to introduce Regional pay deals for public sector workers. Without getting partisan about this issue it would be nice for the raw data used in this study, which will determine the regional/ sub-regional "cost of living", is fully published when the policy is determined so that:
1) The public and researchers can determine if the methodology used was the best possible
2) Make suggestions about improvements to the methodology and
3) Actually get access to some data to produce our own "Cost of Living" Datasets for the UK.
Trying to find raw data for regional cost of living estimates for the UK at the moment is a nightmare! Not least because national figures are always skewed by London!
