Publication of information on overdue amounts due to HM Revenue from businesses

When businesses fail, I find that they have failed owing HM Revenue large sums of money (recently HS Works Ltd owed £9,100,000) which must have built up over a considerable period of time. Free information should be available to show which businesses are overdue to HM revenue, by how much and how long. As a business owner I would like to know this as this is the first indicator of their ability to pay my debt. I could choose whether to extend credit to them with much more knowledge than currently. As a business owner regularly paying my bills to HMRC on time, I have a right to this information which is held to avoid me losing money when these businesses fail and threatening the jobs of staff that work for me.

HMRC to do this for evasion over £25k

I heard that this is going to be done for those owing over £25,000 to HMRC:

http://www.totallymoney.com/news/index.php/2009/04/hmrc-to-name-and-sham...

It is not clear from the article whether this will apply to businesses. In any case, this information could easily be shared with a fraud prevention or credit reference agency.

hs works or is it hs water maybe hs gas ???????

Any search at this address will bring up loads of companies that are all linked together they all have the same staff directors etc

all hs works staff were sent p45's in dec and then told they work for hs water funny thing is they get paid by hs gas

wonder if anyone in the company will be called to account but i doubt it

best advice to any company that deals with them or person that works for them is dont

maybe if some goverment agency or council or company that has had dealings with them could sort out what they have done

A matter of principle

As a matter of principle, I would be wary of doing business with any company that has owed back taxes for a long period of time. Why should I help people who have failed to make adequate provisions for doing their duty to society? OK, they might need money/deals to STOP their business going bankrupt... They might WANT to pay their taxes in a few cases... But most of these guys are complete CROOKS.

I hear too often of companies going bankrupt, where the staff just turn up to work one morning (the day before their monthly pay day) and find the premises all locked up. As though the managers and accountants somehow didn't know until the last minute what was happening.

Totally agree with the sentiment of this post - as a legitimate business, I feel I have a right to this information.

HS WORKS

Well i have just had a meeting and heard a name David Anold Now if I'm right he was a Director of HSWORKS but now he coming onto the contract I'm working on o dear what a shame for this company.

You all pretty stupid if you

You all pretty stupid if you ask me. Read into it properly, if
Thames Water didn't knock HS Civils for £7 million pounds then everyone would
of got paid. But unfortunately Thames Water are too powerful to fight so they didn’t
have much chance!! So for those of you that know it all, think where you would
be if you lost £7 million!! Most people have never seen that amount of money! Good luck to them!

check business overdue or if it owes any money

Hi folks,

I am David, i work for one of the financial companies in London and often I have to check financial details of any new clients as a part of my job. About a month back we had a new client and as a policy we had to check their backgrounds and financials including if they owe any money of any organizatio and also if they have any CCJ against them or anything alarming. I found out one very good website to find Company articulated financial reports including CCJ, which came to be the cheapsest.

https://www.ukcreditinfo.co.uk/

Hope it will help.

Cheers,
