Map crime incidents against pubs where it occurs like scores on the doors for food hygiene
Why not give pubs scores on the doors relating to the drugs, violence, and police calls to the premises? In much the same way we have scores on the doors for food, why not have scores on the doors for police visits? If pubs were rated by the number of drug arrests in and around them, or incidents of violence in and around them, or simply the number times the police had to visit the premsis, it would give the average person a better understanding of the premises.
If the information was mapped into an application, this would be helpful for visitors or people new to the town who do not know the reputation of various public houses. In the same way that scores on the doors for food hygiene can be found through a smart phone application, the same could be done for pubs and crime.
I am aware that the iphone has an application that allows you to point your phone down a street and it will give you the scores on the doors for all of the restaurants on the street. Why not do the same for the pubs which have proboems.
Even if the data set was simply the number of visits by the police to an establishment, it would be enough to begin to educate people and it would also encourage pubs to take the proper remedial measures.
Just a thought. Hope it helps.
