Last evening there were accidents in horam due to the treacherous road conditions. The roads had not been gritted. I travelled through to Eastbourne at 5:30pm with the temperature at -3.5 ........ A lot of surface water was lying on the 'newly tarmaced' stretch bewteen Horam and Coggers Cross. By 7:15 it was a sheet of ice ......... Where were the gritters yesterday ????????? Why is it that Kent County Council can manage and yet ESCC seem to be 'lethargic' when it comes to public safety??? I do feel that unless these ongoing problems with ESCC are exposed/highlighted through the media the situation will continue.

Have you come and gritted Heathfield and Broad Oak yet.  We are always one of the worst hit places, and it seems we are just forgotten about!  We can't get up Station Road, and no one can get to us from Broad Oak yet.  The High Steet, Station Road and Hailsham Road through to Horam need gritting now really.  It's hilly and people can't get to the main roads that you have gritted and are telling us are clear!
