PlanningAlerts.com is a free service built by Richard Pope, Mikel Maron, Sam Smith, Duncan Parkes, Tom Hughes and Andy Armstrong. The site is kindly hosted by mySociety.org. It searches as many local authority planning websites as it can find and emails you details of applications near you. The aim of this to enable shared scrutiny of what is being built (and knocked down) in peoples communities. http://www.planningalerts.com/ Dataset Name: Planning Applications |

the sneeky councils...
they will stop publishing postcodes for the planning locations. Thats what mine did.
They come up with some old house name, or some obscure signposted company name that owns the land/building to designate it. That way no-one even realises where it is.

Postcode Data
It's been a month since the OS OpenData was released, yet the PlanningAlerts website still say
"PlanningAlerts.com is currently experiencing technical difficulties because of ongoing legal action by Royal Mail."
at the top.
PlanningAlerts is a useful service. Is it going to wake up and smell the open data soon?
