2015 - 2016 Centre for Environment, Fisheries & Aquaculture Science (Cefas) Georeferenced data of wind turbines in the North Sea: 2015-2016

Abstract

Gridded data, in ascii text format, of wind turbines at the spatial extent of the North Sea (2015-2016). Data are produced at three different spatial resolutions: 0.1, 0.25 and 0.5 decimal degree, respectively. Values represent estimated proportion of grid cell occupied by structures. Data were derived as model inputs to support two Cefas projects ( **COSM** and ** EcoConnect** ) under the ** INSITE** (INfluence of man-made Structures In The Ecosystem) programme.

Data were derived from: KIS-ORCA 2017 ( `https://kis-orca.eu/`_ ) Kingfisher Awareness Charts. Raw data from pdf files were processed and aggregated at 3 spatial resolutions. Data may be missing from North Sea areas outside of UK waters.
